The sources pointed out that the floods flooded major streets in the regions of Sawan, and other peoples and neighborhoods, and caused great damage to shops and homes.
The sources did not reveal the size of the losses and damages, but pointed out that rain water is still flooding several neighborhoods in the city, amid warnings of serious environmental and health implications.
Local officials in Abyan reported that dozens of houses and properties were damaged and agricultural lands were washed away due to the torrential rains in a number of the governorate’s areas.
A local official said that more than a dozen homes in the Ahwar district, the fortress areas and the warehouse were severely damaged and three drowning cases were recorded in the Batis and inactive areas.
He added that several dams in the Delta regions were subject to collapse, in addition to sweeping large areas of agricultural land.
In the Jayshan District, the Secretary-General of the local council issued an urgent appeal to the authorities and humanitarian organizations to intervene and provide shelter and relief materials to the affected people.
