Tension prevails in a number of stone areas in the southern countryside of Taiz, with the continued build-up of military police forces and forces belonging to the Taiz axis in addition to the forces of the 35th Armored Brigade.
Military sources said that dozens of crews belonging to the military police and the axis of Taiz arrived in the city of Al-Turbah and spread in a number of areas inside the city and a number of villages surrounding the Shamayten district.
The sources stated that the forces of the 35th Armored Brigade also deployed in a number of their locations in the region, adding that the governor of the province, Nabil Shamsan, held a number of meetings to contain the situation and remove tension.
The sources pointed out that the state of military mobilization, which comes months after the assassination of the commander of the thirty-fifth armored brigade, Brigadier General Adnan Al-Hammadi, caused a state of panic and fear among the citizens from the outbreak of confrontations between these military units.
In addition, MSF called for keeping hospitals and health facilities in Taiz free from weapons. The call came against the backdrop of intense gunfire inside Al-Thawra General Hospital in the city of Taiz, where the organization’s office is located.
Noting that a group of armed individuals forcibly entered the hospital campus, and that fortunately no one was injured in this incident.
She added, “It is the duty of all individuals and armed groups to respect the humanitarian and impartial status of hospitals, and to ensure that health facilities are protected under any circumstances.”
